A REVIEW ON INFANTRY COMBAT MOVEMENT FOR CHARACTER ANIMATION IN 3D ANIMATION

ABSTRACT
Today’s animation is not just about entertainment. Animation can be developed to portray soldiers in battlefields. It can be used as a medium to communicate a soldier’s culture, life and language to the public. This will provide a better understanding about the soldier’s behaviour in the battlefield.

Animators are required to study infantry combat movements of soldier’s characteristic for 3D characters. Analysis via review and research. A background study of soldiers in action and collect information through pictures, videos, books etc. Combat movement offers unique action such as melee attacks, strafe with weapon, strafe crouch and run gun aim. These unique values can be adapted to 3D character to make the character more war-like. Animators aim to portray their character in actual movement and to convey their message, while at the same time keep their audience entertain.

HYPOTHESIS

Combat movement are very useful as a guideline to determine the important elements to animate the character to become more war-like and realistic.

THESIS ISSUES
The effectiveness of the combat movements in producing better animation.

3. Gather information though books, internet and other resources.
4. Analyze all factors.

RESEARCH RELATION TO THE DESIGN PROJECT PROPOSAL
This research helps my design project to produce better combat movements
in war animation. Through this research, it provide me with a deeper understanding in warfare combat. This help me to create more unique and war-like characters. The research also helps me to decide the techniques to be used for my 3D character models in my Delta Final Year Project.
